Of the 23,000 schools in the US only about 300 are accredited. These schools are usually large Universities with costly tuition to cover administration costs. SOHMAR is not accredited with the United States Department of Education, however the accreditation process is a completely voluntary accolade and NOT a requirement to operate a massage school in Illinois. Most importantly SOHMAR IS APPROVED to operate by *Division of Private Business and Vocational Schools through the Illinois Board of Higher Education. This also enables us to keep our tuition affordable for our students.
