This 17 hour program will offer the most current information and techniques on essential oils and how to utilize them in a daily routine that increase your energetic health issues as well as the mind body and spiritual well-being. You will learn tips on how to elicit the mind's powerful relaxation response using essential oils and how they can boost your immune system, cope with chronic pain, and alleviate symptoms of a host of stress-related illnesses.  Issues such as, the benefit of sensing energy while using essential oils, understanding how essential oils affect the bio field and energy centers will be examined with emphasis on integrating what is learned through hands-on guided experiences in group sessions.

Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:
- Explain concepts utilizing Essential Oils to restore harmony and balance to the Human Energy Body.
- Identify the techniques used with essential oils that release tension and stress and congestion in the body.
- Demonstrate selection of specific essential oils and interventions used to remove congestion, reduce stress and tension in the Human Energy Field
- Recognize the role that essential oils play as it relates to helping others and self-care

Aroma 101: Foundations of Aromatherapy Certificate program has been designed for massage therapists, estheticians, nurses, healthcare providers, Counselors, Chaplains and Social Workers and individuals interested in exploring aromatherapy and the benefits of essential oils. Foundations Aromatherapy is an entry-level program.

OBJECTIVES
  • •Develop a new career in the use and application of therapeutic grade essentials oils for Aromatherapy
  • •Enhance an existing health care or counseling practice with the use of therapeutic grade essential oils
  • •Integrate natural remedies into home care, self care, client based care
  • •Simply learning more about the chemistry and application of essential oils for use in natural products.

    UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:
  • •Discuss the history of aromatherapy and its modern development.
  • •Compare and contrast a true essential oil with a fragrance oil.
  • •Identify key elements in determining the quality of an essential oil.
  • •Understand and discuss methods of production and the various end products these methods produce.
  • •Identify the origins and purpose of an essence in a plant.
  • •Define what an essential oil is and how it is produced.
  • •Demonstrate knowledge of 20 essential oils, including Latin binomial, safety information, and key therapeutic and/or energetic properties of each individual essential oil.
  • •Understand current up-to-date information on safety and essential oils.
  • •Describe the basic physiology of the skin and its key functions.
  • •Design an effective blend for a basic skincare.
  • •Describe the basic anatomy & physiology of the sense of smell.
  • •Specify key parts of the limbic system and their function.
  • •Create a blend of essential oils for an emotional purpose.
  • •List and describe various methods of application techniques and delivery systems.
  • •Demonstrate basic knowledge of the chemistry of essential oils.
  • •Design aromatic blends for a range of common household ailments.
  • •Assess your needs for advanced education in aromatherapy.
  • •Develop clear career goals and a path for implementing the use of therapeutic grade essential oils in the current workplace.

Nature's medicine, or Aromatherapy has been around for thousands of years. The use of essential oils from plants, flowers, seeds, and tree bark is practiced in the Eastern part of the world on a regular basis. The Western world is now gradually turning back to nature to help individuals heal on many levels. You'll learn a variety of techniques for utilizing essential oils in your daily life.
Aromatherapy should be used as a complement to allopathic medicine, not Nature's medicine. You'll purchase an essential oil kit from the instructor for $25.
